The Chanel Rouge Allure Velvet launch collection includes 4 nail polishes - Le Vernis in Rose Cache (mute powder pink), Rose Exubérant (bright fuchsia pink), Pirate (red) and Top Coat Velvet (matte finish top coat).
Pirate #08 is a classic blue red. If you are familiar with Chanel polishes, I would say Pirate is a mix between Dragon and Rouge Fatal. Above is a line-up photo to compare.
Initially I thought Pirate would be a creme finish but I've found it to be more of a jelly finish - after 2 coats the colour is still a little bit sheer.
As lovely as it is on its own, I prefer to wear Pirate with the Top Coat Velvet on top as it takes away the jelly sheerness (I like my red nails fully opaque).
