A LIPSTICK A DAY

Island #597 is definitely my favourite nail polish from the Summertime de Chanel 2012 Summer Collection.  The colour and pearlescent effect is just beautiful and flattering against my skintone.

May was a bit of a blah month makeup-wise.  I have been trying to get into work on time rather than cruising in at 10 (which means a much longer day as I don't leave the office until 7pm usually), so I've had less time to think about what to wear and just grabbed whatever was in front of me.

On top of that, there wasn't really any new makeup collections screaming out my name - so I didn't really have any new bits of face makeup to play with except for the Dior Addict in Jet-Set.  Nail polish was a whole other story though.

I very nearly didn't buy Frisson - May has been a killer month for nail polishes, and I felt like I had spent far too much on Dior nail polishes already.  But I am very glad I did buy it, because I think I actually prefer it over Distraction.

The long awaited Roses Ultimes de Chanel collection finally launched in London.  Out of the four nail polishes, I picked up Distraction and Frisson (which will be reviewed later this week).  I skipped Attraction (silver white) and Tentation (magenta) because these kind of colours don't look good against my skin.  Not being a fan of lip gloss, I skipped all the glossimers.

It is fairly unusual for me to write a perfume review because I'm not one of those types that can detect each note and critique a perfume in a poetic fashion. But what I do know is what I like and what smells good (in my opinion) - I don't like heavy and overpowering perfumes.

Having dismissed L'Eau de Chloe because I did not like the original Chloe (too sweet and cloying for me), I was pleasantly surprised when I tried it in a department store. I couldn't stop smelling the sample card afterwards - the smell is quite addictive.
