Rouge G de Guerlain in Garçonne #25

September has been a bad month for my credit card.  So many launches, so little cash.  After the huge Tom Ford and Harrods Chanel splurges, I still caved in for the Rouge G de Guerlain in Garçonne #25.

Besides Chanel and coral makeup, I have a weak spot for red lipsticks.  Even though I hardly get the chance to wear them* (wearing one to work is out of the question), I love to buy them.

Look Inspiration - In The Mood For Love

I re-watched In The Mood For Love over the weekend and have found myself recreating Maggie Cheung's makeup.  In every scene the makeup is immaculate and in my opinion, a very wearable look, even though the movie is set in the early 60s.

Liberty Ultimate Gift with Purchase

I caved in for this gift with purchase from Liberty.  It has 12 items + 1 Liberty print make-up bag (not photographed because it's not my cup of tea).

Items included are:

  • Cowshed Moody Cow Balancing Body Lotion (100ml)
  • Espa Hydrating Floral Spafresh (60ml)
  • Trish McEvoy Intense Eye Pencil in black (0.8g)
  • Kiehl's Creme de Corps (30ml)
  • Dermalogica Microfoliant
  • Korres Echinacea Soap (2x40g)
  • Chantecaille Rice and Geranium Foaming Cleanser (30ml)
  • REN Moroccan Rose Otto Bath Oil (30ml)
  • Malin + Goetz Vitamin B5 Body Moisturiser (29ml)
  • Hourglass Superficial Lash Mascara (8g)
  • Aesop Rind Concentrate Body Balm (50ml)
  • Bamford Botanic Bath Oil Geranium (30ml)

There is also a voucher for a corner lash application at the Shu Uemura counter and some vouchers for other GWPs and treatments.

I have not had the chance to try any of these yet because I'm busy moving flat at the moment.  But the first thing I'd try is probably the Rose Otto Bath Oil - it smells divine.

Engraved Rouge G de Guerlain Le Brillant in Brit B40

I wanted to post this about a week ago as I was quite excited about how this turned out, but had to wait until my friend had received the parcel.  It was my friend's big 3-0 birthday recently so I had to look for a special gift for her.

Boudoir Privé September Box

Quite frankly, I'm not impressed with the September Boudoir Privé box.  I feel the samples are a bit paltry for £10 (maybe it's fine if you ordered the box for £5 with the discount code). Unfortunately I wasn't particularly interested in the selection of products either.

Chanel Joues Contraste in Candy #13

I picked up Joues Contraste in Candy #13 from the Harrods Chanel pop-up counter.  As far as I'm aware, this shade is not normally available in the UK.  After a quick google search, it appears Candy might be a permanent shade in Asia.

Chanel Tweed Manicure

My Harrods / Marian Newman Chanel Tweed Manicure with Rose Insolent as the base colour and Graphite & Black Pearl as the tweed effect stripes.

To be honest I was underwhelmed with it, I was expecting something more intricate...maybe with some texture?

I was hoping to get mine done with THE Marian Newman but because I arrived on time, I got one of her team instead...who was lovely but would only do the accent nail.  I had a peek at the girl ( who arrived late) who had her nails done with Marian and the tweed effect was done on every nail, with a much better result.  To rub it in I smudged the nails when I went to pay for my Chanel items as well.  Oh well.

Lipstick of the day #13 - Dior Addict Lipstick in Diorkiss #578

Ok, so I'm just a little late to be trying my first Dior Addict lipstick.  I was distracted and sidetracked by the Chanel Rouge Coco Shines.  I don't know how I managed to not buy one for so long, because Kate Moss looks beautiful in the adverts, and the shade she is wearing looks absolutely perfect.

More Chanel

I know it's been Chanel overload here on the blog but I do love my Chanel.  Right now, the Harrods pop-up counter have some nail polish(es?) and Joues Contrastes that are not normally available at UK counters.

Chanel Poudre Tissée in Brompton Road

This highlighter/blush has the longest name in the world - Poudre Tissée Highlighting Powder and Blush Natural Finish in Brompton Road. This is a Harrods exclusive, along with three Rouge Allures and a glossimer, as part of the Knightsbridge collection.

Just for the lipstick

It never occurred to me that this little pocket is for lipstick until I went to Une Promenade and watched the 2.55 videos.  And I've had this bag for nearly FOUR years.

Lipstick of the day #12 - Chanel Rouge Allure in Hyde Park

Chanel Rouge Allure in Hyde Park is a Harrods exclusive as part of their Chanel World promotion.  There are three Rouge Allures in this Knightsbridge collection - Hyde Park, Kensington (fuchsia pink, almost Barbie-ish) and Belgravia (just pink).

The Rouge Allure packaging is my favourite out of Chanel's lineup.  The lipstick case is probably the most innovative bar Guerlain's Rouge G - you click the gold base and out comes the lipstick from the sleek black case.  Genius.

Tom Ford Cheek Color in Flush #3

Out of all the Tom Ford blush colours, my eyes went straight to this one. But then I'm a coral kind of girl so I'm always immediately drawn to anything peachy coral.  The rest of the line-up are mostly neutral pinks except for Wicked which is an intense bright pink.

Tom Ford Eye Color Quad in Titanium Smoke #10

The new Tom Ford makeup range has 10 eyeshadow palettes, ranging from very wearable neutrals to the slightly questionable purples and blues.  Once I saw photos from the PR launches, I knew I had to have Titanium Smoke #10.

The new makeup range moved away from the packaging of the Private Blend Lipsticks, replacing the white with a metallic mahogany finish.  All the palettes and compacts use a magnetic closure rather than the traditional click closure.

Chanel Une Promenade Exhibition at Harrods

Some photos from the exhibition. It's supposed to be no photos allowed but I sneaked some in the rooms without security watching.

A giant Chanel bag

The Tweed Room with sketches by Karl Lagerfeld on huge tweed canvases.

The 2.55 Room. I sat there for a while watching how the bags are made...fascinated as I have one and have never really thought about how they go about making it.

The Haute Couture Room is all kinds of special but couldn't take any photos there :(

If you're in London, please do have a look and get a guided tour from one of the curators - you'll get much more from it.

Tom Ford Makeup & Chanel Harrods Collection

Today's haul ;)

Haven't been able to update blog as MacBook is getting repaired at the Apple Store. All I can do at the moment is post via email unfortunately :(
