Lumière Sculptée de Chanel Highlighting Powder

Lumière Sculptée de Chanel Highlighting Powder is the star product of Chanel's 2011 hoiday collection. Although I already have more highlighters than I could ever finish, I knew I had to get this once I saw promotional photos of it - the embossing on the powder is exquisite.
The highlighting powder is housed in a compact which is the same size as the Soleil Tan de Chanel blush/bronzer from the Summer collection. An angled brush is included, and its quality is not bad - the bristles are actually quite soft to touch compared to other compact brushes.
The colour of the powder is a pearly metallic white-cream with the tiniest touch of pink. There is an overspray of very fine glitter which will be removed after a few swipes.
The design is inspired by a Baroque-style jewellery belt worn by Coco Chanel.
Here's some close-ups of the incredible detail.
Somehow I feel they have compromised on the texture due to the embossing. Unlike the recent trend of gelee powders in other brands like Estee Lauder and Laura Mercier, Lumière Sculptée de Chanel is a powder. The texture of this powder is not as smooth and finely milled as you would expect from Chanel. That's not to say it is a bad product - I'm just a little bit disappointed that Chanel did not come up with something new and innovative texture wise.
I did not take any swatch photos. However, please have a look at The Beauty Look Book's extensive swatches compared with other highlighters.
Bottom line: It is nice but not a must have. I personally prefer Laura Mercier's holiday offering.
