Guerlain Terracotta Blush Sun Shimmer Highlighter in Sunny Pink #02

I surprised myself by purchasing this. I was tempted by the Clarins spring liquid blushes which are very similar - but I was put off by the idea of having shimmery cheeks. But once I swatched the new Terracotta Blush Sun Shimmer Highlighter in Sunny Pink #02, I knew I had to have it.
As with the rest of the Terracotta line, there is supposed to be a blonde shade and a brunette shade. When I swatched both, I much preferred the blonde shade, Sunny Pink, than the designated brunette shade Spicy Coral. In my opinion Sunny Pink suits brunettes just as well as blondes as it is a very flattering coral pink.
Here are some closeups of the gold shimmer particles. Yes it does look like there is a lot but these are extreme macro shots - the actual tube is about the width of a lipstick.
Both Sunny Pink and Spicy Coral are designed to be used as either highlighter or blush. I have only used it as blush thus far, because I think to pull it off as a highlighter, you'd need a summer tan (which I do not have right now in cloudy London).
The name Sunny Pink is a bit misleading - it leans more towards coral (and Spicy Coral is really more of an orangey shade).
Above is quite a heavy swatch and the shimmer is still noticeable, but you can see they are really fine - no chunky glitters here. (The product description says it contains mother of pear concentrate - maybe it's for the shimmer?)
Here is a more spread out swatch. The shimmer is still there but it's not obtrusive - it just gives a lovely glow to my complexion. I apply this liquid blush with my Daniel Sandler Watercolour brush but application with fingers is just as good. As with all liquid/cream/gel blushes, start off with a light hand and build up the colour as required.
