Lipstick of the day #21 - Burberry Lip Cover in Golden Peach #29

Having not tried the Burberry Beauty line previously, I was a bit late to the Burberry Spring collection. So when I received a gift voucher, I promptly headed to the Burberry counter to try out the Lip Covers. Lip Covers are the equivalent to the Rouge Cocos of Chanel - the main line of opaque pigmented lipsticks with satin finish.
I was drawn by the campaign photo of Cara Delevingne wearing #28 Devon Sunset. At the counter I tried on Devon Sunset and #29 Golden Peach, and as much as I wanted Devon Sunset to work for me, Golden Peach suited my colouring far better.
I quite like the boxes - they are almost like elegant trench coats for the lipsticks.
I was pleasantly surprised by the texture of the Lip Covers - they apply very smoothly without being too creamy (and therefore too much slip). The application, coverage and finish reminds me of Suqqu and the new Dior Addict Extreme lipsticks. I found Lip Covers to be very moisturising and did not dry my lips at all.
Golden Peach appears slightly darker in these photos than in real life. Like its name suggests, Golden Peach is pretty much a true peach tone with the teeny tiniest bit of pink in it. Golden Peach appears pretty much how it appears in the swatch below on me - the colour is adequate in covering my natural lip colour (Devon Sunset did not and it just didn't look right).
After I bought the Lip Covers, I pretty much wore them for the entire week. Although I am a bit of a a Chanel fan, I have to say Lip Covers are superior in quality compared to Rouge Cocos (which are around the same price point). I highly recommend Golden Peach for tanned/olive skinned/pigmented lips peach coral lovers.

I got a few Burberry Lip Cover and Mist samples last month and I absolutely love each one - every shade has been flattering and the texture of them in phenomenal! This one is definitely on my list to buy - thanks for the swatches!!
