Rouge Allure Velvet is the latest range of lipsticks from Chanel. Described as luminous matte lip colour enriched mother of pearl particles, they impart a matte finish but the colour does not appear flat.
Ravissante means charming and delightful, and I think the colour certainly reflects it. In my opinion, La Ravissante #32 is the prettiest shade of the range - a pink/peach with micro shimmer (the kind of colour I gravitate towards). It is also one of the easier colours to wear from a range dominated by a bright pink, strong reds and browns.
Although Chanel claims it is as moisturising as a satin lipstick, after a few hours, they still feel a bit dry on the lips to me. Therefore lip prep is vital before applying the lipstick. But I have to say it is more moisturising compared to MAC and NARS matte lipsticks. Staying power is strong as it is a matte lipstick.
You can see from this photo that the lipstick is matte but has a little bit of light reflecting properties.
I have been wearing Ravissante from the sample card and therefore cannot comment on whether it is okay to apply this lipstick straight from the bullet or whether a lipbrush is required. I suspect it is fine with the lighter colours but a lipbrush will be required for the darker shades. Ravissante is quite opaque when applied.
This swatch shows the lipstick a bit shinier than it actually is. I think it was the way the sunlight caught the lipstick.
Ravissante is my pick for the Rouge Allure Velvet. I have also bought La Fascinate but it's more of a evening only colour for me. Will be reviewing it soon.

***faints*** that is a gorgeous colour. I was hoping to stay away from the rouge allure velvet but that one is so pretty. And is would probably go very well with the shimmery cream eyeshadows, to set off a bit.
