Chanel Joues Contraste in Rose Initiale #72

Recently I have tried to cut down on my beauty purchases, hence the lack of posts in August (but that is also due to time issues).  Instead of buying almost everything that looked good/interesting, I have been editing my wishlist down to the essential "must-buys" from each collection (I skipped the entire Dior Autumn collection).

At first I thought I had to have Lumiere d'Artifices, the stripey sequin palette from the Chanel Autumn 2012 collection.  But after looking at swatch photos and trying it in store, it's a big no for me - the colour just doesn't show up on me.  Then I thought is it absolutely necessary to buy Rose Initiale, another pink blush?

Guerlain Pucci Terra Azzurra Bronzing Powder & Blush

Before I bought this palette, I had second thoughts about it. Do I really need another bronzer (since I'm not a fan of bronzer)? Do I really need another blush (I have enough to use a different one everyday for a month at least)? Is any bronzer/blush really worth £51?

Yes this bronzer blush is really quite expensive. But it is also very big - in fact one could probably use is as a mini discus. I caved in (for research purposes) since I had £15 worth of reward points at Debenhams (btw I used to snub Debenhams but their Beauty Club reward card is excellent when they have bonus point events!).

Guerlain Terracotta Blush Sun Shimmer Highlighter in Sunny Pink #02

I surprised myself by purchasing this.  I was tempted by the Clarins spring liquid blushes which are very similar - but I was put off by the idea of having shimmery cheeks.  But once I swatched the new Terracotta Blush Sun Shimmer Highlighter in Sunny Pink #02, I knew I had to have it.

Chanel Joues Contraste in Fleur de Lotus #69

Joues Contraste in Fleur de Lotus is part of the 2012 Le Blanc Fleur de Lotus makeup collection and is an Asia exclusive.  The two feature products, the blush and the green Illusion d'Ombre in Riviere, immediately reminded me of traditional Chinese paintings of Lotus flowers - intense coral (or pink) with a light wash of green.

Suqqu Nuancing Cheeks EX-03 Akanemizu Blush Spring 2012

Out of the three Suqqu spring collection blushes, EX-03 is actually my favourite. While it is not as eye catching in the palette as EX-02, I find it much more wearable and pigmented.

EX-03 茜水 Akanemizu consists of a rose quartz pink and a peachy coral blossom shade with shimmer.

Suqqu Spring 2012 Nuancing Cheeks Blushes Overview

This is just a quick post to show all the colours of the Suqqu Spring 2012 Nuancing Cheeks blushes.  I will be reviewing each of them in separate posts to follow.

This is my first foray into the Suqqu スック brand (pronounced suk-ku [sook-ku], not su-queue).  I steered clear of their blushes previously as I didn't like having one small blush and one small highlighter in a compact together.  However, once I saw images of these blushes a few months ago, I knew I had to have all of them.  The colours are perfect for me!

Blush Horizon de Chanel Soft Glow Blush Spring 2012

There is no doubt the star product of the Chanel Spring 2012 Harmonie de Printemps collection is the Blush Horizon de Chanel.  However I couldn'y help but be disappointed that the pattern was again stripes, similar to Chanel Bronze Rosé from the 2011 Summer (and the stripes theme will continue for Summer 2012 as well).  My secret wish is for Chanel to make a camellia motif powder palette.

Rouge Bunny Rouge Blush Wand in Vermeer

Rouge Bunny Rouge is one of those brands that I've wanted to try for a long time but in one way or another have delayed purchasing.  Not being able to actually see, touch and try the products at a counter is one of the.  Cost, on top of the former reason, is another.

So I had to rely on blogs for swatches of the products.  Being a BIG cheek product fan, I decided to try the Rouge Bunny Rouge Blush Wand Cheeks in Bloom in Vermeer.  (Yes, RBR products have wonderful and whimsical names that are a bit long and hard to remember.)
